South Shore Watershed Association

Myles and I were out to Linden Hill tonight, there was evidence of some beaver activity in the pond, with a few new sticks added to the little beaver dam.
Fish were jumping in the pond
Park area has all been newly mowed.

296373_261710047189778_6561750_nDeSable is home to a multitude of beautiful landscapes and wildlife. However, we think Linden Hill is a jewel in our crown, and love to show it off to Islanders and tourists alike. Recently excavated (2008 and 2012), this pond is truly an example of a natural area, with a short rudimentary trail along the pond’s edge and space for your children or dog to run free.

Not sure where it is? Linden Hill Pond is located on Route 246, right at the changeover from South Melville to Kelly’s Cross communities. It is almost across from the Five Sisters’ of Lavender Lane, and at the bottom of a long driveway leading up to a white farmhouse.  We hope you can find this gem of the DeSable watershed, and enjoy for years to come!
